Dr Mariette Buchner is a physician in Durbanville. She grew up in Franschhoek and matriculated from Franschhoek High School in the picturesque Boland town.
Dr Buchner completed her MBChB at the University of Stellenbosch after which she did her community service in Kimberley. This is also where she gained experience in the field of internal medicine as a Medical Officer.
This inspired her to pursue further studies and she completed her MMed (Int) at Stellenbosch in 2014. Later that same year, she went into private practice.
Dr Buchner has a keen interest in:
- geriatric medicine (her grandmother, who she is named after, played a huge role in her life)
- nephrology
- diabetes mellitus
